Urgency
Does your organization have an absenteeism rate higher than 4.7% ? Or a staff turnover of more than 10%, with an even higher percentage of women, LGBTQIA+ people and people with a different ethnic background? That can be done differently. Maybe you have good objectives or actions in the field of diversity, but too little in the field of inclusion and well-being.
Your goal
An organization or school where people feel seen, heard, safe and happy. Where absenteeism and turnover are minimal. Where managers are aware of biases and adapt their communication to each individual. Where colleagues or students focus more on their similarities than on their differences and where there is no room for exclusion. Happy employees stay longer, grow faster, work more efficiently and ensure more turnover. It's that simple.
I am a white cis woman who delves into discrimination, inclusion and well-being on a daily basis.
In January 2022, I became DEI leader of Schneider Electric Netherlands. After my departure, Schneider Electric became my first customer and I am still in discussions with former colleagues about diversity and inclusion. In addition to training in organizations, I teach in secondary education, with rebound education as a focus group.
Everything I do has the goal that people look at themselves and others with more compassion, feel the freedom to be themselves and create a positive and motivating culture together. I am aware that I can learn endlessly about this, but can never know first-hand what it feels like to be discriminated against because of my skin color, ethnic background, orientation or gender. On the other hand, I believe that the struggle to be who you are lies with the people who do not directly experience discrimination. That is why I start a conversation about inclusion in organizations and at schools with the goal that as many people as possible can be who they are.
A strategic choice
For some organizations, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Well-being are just a checkbox. That, while recent research by Consulting organization Accenture among almost 350 companies shows that 'inclusive companies' achieved 1.6 times more turnover and 2.6 times more net profit in the past 5 years. In addition, employees within these organizations were found to be 25% more productive than in less inclusive industry peers. Figures that underline my promise.

" Very well organized with thoughtful questions, an open place where one can really feel a connection with their colleagues. I feel reinvigorated after this.
Amber is amazing. She is kind, nice and has a beautiful soul. She is the best person to lead these conversations. "
“ In Conversation creates a community with respect for each other, a deeper connection with each other, more open mind way of thinking and creating a better team/ company. ”
“ The conversation brings awareness that people experience the word differently and helps build a more inclusive and understanding workplace. It encourages respect for neurodiversity and other unique perspectives. ”
“ This dialogue allows us to discover aspects that may be taboo for some, and ask questions without feeling embarrassed. Human curiosity is a good thing when it comes to breaking down barriers and understanding others. ”
